A pro-active communication specialist is required for a global leading edge retail consultancy to join the team in either Altrincham (Greater Manchester) or London, on a part time basis.
A Marketing/PR manager is required to develop and implement a marketing and PR strategy to create and sustain an awareness of the group in the UK. Specific requirements of the role will entail the following key elements:
* Public Relations
- Develop and implement the UK PR plan
- Actively coordinate and develop contents for press briefings and own publications
- Build and maintain relationships with the press: trade press (retail and consumer goods) and general business press
- Support senior staff in their press activities
- Provide feedback internally on PR/Marketing progress
* Seminars and Events
- Implement marketing activities across seminars and conferences
- Organise and produce promotional material for seminars and corporate events
- Build and maintain relationships with conference organizations
* Sales support
- Develop standard presentations and material to support the sales process aligned with the key messages
- Organize effective follow up of marketing activities in cooperation with the responsible principals and managers
* Marketing Administration
- Maintenance of database, brochure updates, company website
- Assure that all communication tools are aligned with the corporate identity in terms of contents and visuals
- Act as member of the European Marketing team
- Follow media and press of the key market to align marketing activities with the key issues in the target market
Applicants will require the following key skills, experience and attributes:
- a degree, with experience in PR/Direct or Events Marketing;
- some experience in a PR function, ideally for trade publications or PR agencies focusing on B2B communication;
- knowledge of the PR mix, including broadcast media, product placement, crisis management, press release processes, and thought-leadership;
- all round marketing experience;
- good copywriting skills (in English);
- ability to put technical information into clear/concise and winning messages;
- good media networks and/or ability to develop strong media relations;
- knowledge of the consumer products /retail industry and the PR/Marketing tools used;
- good interpersonal and communication skills;
- sound organisational ability;
- drive, energy, initiative;
- are confident and level-headed under pressure;
Though not essential, a second European language and experience in a professional service environment would be beneficial.
Working 3 days a week, you will receive a salary of £28,000-£35,000 pro rata, alongside excellent benefits including a pension scheme, a profit and performance related bonus scheme and more. If you are interested please send your CV (stating details of current package), via the button shown.
