Our client is a highly reputable foods manufacturer based in the South West. They are looking to appoint a microbiologist with experience from a foods background to carry out experiments on food samples, test incoming materials and perform shelf life tests and support the quality manager with maintaining the factory and laboratory quality systems.
The preferred candidate will have;
HND/BSc in Microbiology, Food science or a related degree
Experienced in routine microbiological analysis of food(including sampling techniques of different food products), mainly for pathogens as Salmonella, Listeria, E.Coli O157, Campylobacter, Staph. Aureus, etc.
Familiarity with identification procedures, staining/microscope, biochemical/serological tests.
Familiar with food standards in microbiology as BSI, ISO, etc., And GLP in the lab.
Experience of maintenance of microbiological strain collections (Bacteria, Yeast and Moulds)
Strong leadership and influencing skills
