A leading Global $Billion Manufacturer are currently seeking an FMCG Production Team Leader to drive the Day to day management of production activities throughout the manufacturing department. The company are also beginning to implement a lean manufacturing change programme implementing lean techniques such as SMED, 5S and Kan Ban to improve efficiencies and ultimately increase turnover and market share.
Responsibilities include:
Manage the production areas to achieve weekly schedule and targets.
Increase output and maximise production efficiencies
Minimise equipment downtime and improve equipment availability.
Form part of the cohesive management team.
Ensure that all batch manufacturing records are completed in accordance with cGMP standards, within time limits and to the satisfaction of QA and customers.
Ensure that all team members adhere to SOP's and comply with their individual responsibilities for cGMP, in order to ensure that that there are no GMP deficiencies.
Recommend improvements to the batch manufacturing process and standard operating procedures to ensure that the process runs more efficiently and effectively.
Ensure timely completion of Corrective Actions.
Ensure that all manufacturing deviations are fully recorded and investigated.
Walk the lines in order to audit work areas on a regular basis to ensure that Standard Operating Procedures are being followed.
Ensure that all personnel, equipment and practices comply with Health and Safety requirements.
Liaise with safety representatives and the Health and Safety department to ensure that Health and Safety initiatives are implemented. Directly manage the team, giving verbal and written instructions to colleagues and operators.
Balance the need to conduct operational activities with the requirement to provide leadership, in order that the production process runs smoothly and efficiently with minimum downtime.
Monitor attendance and to take appropriate action where necessary.
To conduct return to work interviews in accordance with company policy.
To encourage co-operation between team members and to create good team spirit within and between shifts.
To deliver team briefs face to face.
To co-ordinate and undertake if required, on-the-job tuition of inexperienced members of staff and to create confidence amongst those learning new skills.
To ensure that team members are correctly trained and developed so that they are able to undertake the duties expected of them and to ensure that the process is properly documented.
To conduct 12 monthly reviews/appraisals of the manufacturing team.
You will be in a similar role within the FMCG, Electronics, Automotive, Pharmaceutical sector with a proven track record of implementing Lean Manufacturing techniques into an organisation.
