A leading Ambient / Dairy Foods Manufacturer is currently seeking a Senior Development Technologist / NPD Manager to assist in the development of new products and processes for all customers from concept to product launch.
Responsibilities include:
To be innovative and creative in new product formulation.
Ensure that kitchen and Factory samples are produced to the required standards and take responsibility to authorise their release
Ability to scale up kitchen concepts into factory friendly formulations and carry out thorough factory trials, recording all the necessary information, documenting it and taking responsibility for signing it off.
Ability to amend recipes to the customers requests from both a recipe and process angle and trouble shoot any issues arising from launched products from both a formulation and process angle.
To provide a consultation resource for production in order to investigate any product or process issues.
Ability to match and improve products currently in the market.
Direct accountability to specified accounts in terms of development.
Exposure to customers on site visits in terms of trials and presentations.
Booking laboratory samples, both internal and external, providing the relevant information paperwork required.
Auditing the documentation that is generated by the department and ensuring that all New Product Files are correct and complete.
Assist in the weekly plan and set up trials with production.
Continued focus on existing product and process improvement.
Coach and train development technologists in recipe formulation/scale up areas.
Provide costing information for all NPD lines.
Build relationships with customers in order to maximise the benefits of products.
Responsible for the day to day running of the kitchen in terms of ensuring that the pace and quality of work is maintained and that key objectives are met.
You will be a Creative, Ambitious Development Technologist, experience within a similar position will be advantageous.
