A leading Chilled and Frozen Food Manufacturer is currently seeking a Food Safety Manager managing to join their team

Responsibilities include:
Direct Management of food safety programme:
HACCP Team Leader & maintenance food safety management system
Develop and implement monthly HACCP meetings with the Technical Managers to review any breeches to food safety
Conduct technical audits both in-house (GMPC, food safety, systems, compliance, environmental..) And of suppliers (UK and overseas)
Micro and Analytical laboratories management:
Ensure all Quality documentation is updated as required to secure and maintain CLAS/ISO 17025 accreditation status of the laboratories.
To manage the sample and lab consumables budgets for all laboratories
Manages, supports and advises the company on any adverse trend on results.
Carry out practical testing as required, providing training for Micro & HPLC on new products or testing requirements. Keep abreast of analytical & microbiological developments.
Undertake annual personnel appraisals for laboratories personnel.
Ensure all microbiological, & analytical sampling schedules (both internal and external) are in place and adhered to, and that all non-conformances are followed up as required, both internally and with suppliers.
Ensuring requirements from suppliers for micro & HPLC are reflected internally.
Ensure all products are sampled and tested as required and produced to specification, making sure that:
Customer requirements for Micro are reflected internally.
Reviewing both microbiological and organoleptic analysis, allocate overall shelf life on products.
Review, authorise/release held products following any breech of food safety protocol.
Ensure water, air and environment are microbiologically, sampled and tested as required and that all non-conformances are followed up as required.

You will have a Microbiology / Food Science or Equivalent and be in a similar role currently with Laboratory managerial skills /experience with auditing experience. Experiences in food safety management system (HACCP) & ISO22000 Preferably gained in chilled/high care facility will be deemed advantageous.

A full, clean driving licence will be required as there may be travel involved periodically both in the UK and overseas.
