A leading Chilled Manufacturer within the Wiltshire, Somerset, Avon area are currently seeking a Specifications and Legislation Manager to join their team for a 12 month maternity cover.
Responsibilities will include:
To act as a centre of excellence and first point of contact providing information on all Food Legislation issues
Ensure the Central Technical Specifications team can meet the current and future needs of our customers.
Ensuring the preparation, storage and review of product specifications is carried out in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.
Ensure that all artwork is accurate and complies with all relevant legislation
Promote a professional image of the Central Technical Function.
Provide support to the Commercial, Development and Technical teams providing advice on legislation issues.
Assist customers in defining artwork and text for products that complies with all appropriate food legislation.
Assume responsibility for the welfare, safety and training requirements of all employees in line with company expectations.
Responsible for ensuring that customer requirements are met by the product specification team.
Maintain a safe working environment at all times.
To be up to date with changes in legislation for claims, nutrition and artwork and communicate internally accordingly.
Oversee the quality of information produced in customer specifications.
Effectively and efficiently manage the generation of Product Specifications as requested.
Ensure that customer enquiries are responded to promptly.
To generate nutritional and ingredient information as required by Commercial or Development teams
Responsible for the management, development and training of the Specification Officers.
You will ideally have an Extensive understanding of current food legislation affecting claims, nutritional declaration, artwork and Knowledge of Customer specification systems.
A full driving licence and excellent communications and inter-personal skills are essential.
Experience in the chilled sector will be regarded as a distinct advantage.
