Our client specialises in the design, manufacture and assembly of plastic components for automotive and specialist industries worldwide using state-of-the-art technology.
They currently have an opportunity for a Technician to work in the Business Electronics department.
Responsibilites:
You will be responsible for setting of the press conditions to ensure components are produced to Customer specifications.
Key Role & Objectives:
-To liase with others regarding work schedules;
-Starting and stopping of plastic injection moulding presses.
3-Cleaning injection moulding machine barrels
-Ensure injection moulding machine nozzles are removed from time to time and sent to the tool room if cleaning is required;
-If required, to remove the screw of injection moulding machines, in conjunction with the maintenance department.
-Inputting information and setting machines and creating new processing information for new components are to be produced.
-Ensure correct setting (e.g. ejection set up, carriage, tool and barrel temperature control, correct clamp in force);
-Purging material through barrels of machines and monitoring quality of produce;
-Submitting samples with required documentation as an when required;
-Seeking and obtaining authorisation prior to commencement of production;
-Problem solving;
-Setting robots e.g. fitting robot head and adjusting to suit required job.
-Ensure correct labelling an documentation;
-Ensure equipment is in safe working order to use and is used safely and correctly.
-Following procedure
-Monitoring cycle times of processes and to adjust as required;
-Recording information and completing documentation
-Printing out and provision of data from machines on a regular basis
-Liaising with the tool room as and when required-notifying the correct people regarding issues with tools or machines;
-Emptying hoppers of cold material and assisting with material change-overs
-Minor electrical maintenance;
-Ensuring tool maintenance and cleanliness eg: guards in place, oil leaks repaired etc;
-Assist setters whenever required;
-Ensuring processes are safe when not in use, e.g. emptying barrels, turning off motor etc;
-Occasional driving of fork lift truck;
-Occasional testing of new tools;
-Fill machines with material in the absence of the material handler
Qualifications / Experience:
-Previous setters or technicians experience;
-Understanding and respect of Health and Safety
-Appreciation of quality
-Literate and numerate
-Interested in manufacturing.
-Previous plastics experience preferred.
-Time served apprenticeship in a related field;
-Fork lift truck licence (RTITB counter-balance);
