This complex international business manufactures large-scale, high-value engineered capital equipment for major customers around the world. There is a challenging mix of product and systems projects – ranging in value from £10m to £300m; with project timescales of 3 months to 3 years – typically with several projects in progress simultaneously. The order book is full, and improvements in planning processes and systems are essential to maintain and improve business performance.
As Planning Systems Manager you will be directly responsible for developing and maintaining the company's business planning systems (including project systems and ERP planning modules), and for interface with local execution systems. You will monitor and manage available and potential manufacturing capacities, and will work with the internal bid, purchasing and production teams to ensure effective project mobilisation.
Requirements:
• Degree in engineering, logistics, mathematics or related disciplines.
• Minimum of 5 years planning experience within comparable high-value contract manufacturing businesses.
• Expert knowledge and experience of planning systems and tools – including MRP and (preferably) SAP.
• High level analytical and problem-solving skills – proven in complex and challenging production environments.
• Ideally, experience of/training in Six Sigma.
