For more than a century our client's gases and expertise have contributed to advances in many industries and aspects of everyday life, including steel-making, refining, chemical processing, environmental protection, wastewater treatment, welding and cutting, food processing and distribution, glass production, electronics and health care.
As part of their expansion plan they need to employ a Technical Services Officer to provide support and services to the electronic gases business with regards to instructions for production. You will assist in the formulation and issue of safe and technically sound instructions for the safe manufacture of Speciality and Electronic Gases? products for both UK & export Customers. This includes the correct specification of cylinders, cylinder valves and labels for the product and country of use. Assist in the maintenance of the gas mixture recipe files, so that they are kept in an up-to date condition. Assist in the provision and maintenance of approved information for use in the formulation of recipes (issued as controlled documents). Assist in dealing with requests to provide filling instructions for stranger cylinders, ensuring that they are only released when there is confirmation that the cylinders are approved for filling under the conditions of the filling instruction.
The successful candidate must have a good understanding of the physical, chemical and hazardous properties of Speciality and Electronic Gases? products and their compatibility with container and valve materials and educated to degree level in an appropriate scientific discipline, such as Chemistry or Physics.
