You will have ownership of the global safety stock model and the parameters used for defining stock targets and responsible for proposing the pipeline stock and Distribution Centre (DC) safety stocks across the entire Product Group and across all 3 DCs in Europe, America and Japan. Work with product managers to agree safety stocks for all new products (where no historic sales information is available). Regularly review safety stock targets and on hand levels to optimise the location of inventory and minimise stock holding costs. Ensure that the use of premium freight methods is minimised. Manage the obsolete stock provision for finished goods. This will include ensuring that excess inventory is not produced in the first place and attempting to minimise any provision by finding alternate sources of consumption for potentially obsolete product. Rebalancing inventory across the globe.
