Our Client, the leading provider of Producer Responsibility and recycling solutions for UK businesses currently have a requirement for a Market Development Executive.
You will develop and manage a network of commercial business relationships with logistics service providers, reprocessors, treatment facilities, asset management companies, reuse and charity organisations to enable our client to have economic, commercial and auditable Agreements which will ensure compliance evidence on behalf of the membership. This should form a crucial part of their WEEE Services member value and facilitate the interface with the Governments enforcement agency on WEEE compliance.
Key Accountabilities
Business Development
- Identify, evaluate and recommend service provider partnerships for logistics, reprocessors and contractors for compliance evidence activities to ensure our client becomes a key player in the WEEE marketplace.
- Work closely with the logistics analyst to ensure the reprocessing network minimises the impact of logistics costs on the business.
- Propose a procurement Strategy which secures capacity and compliance evidence for the WEEE arising which is allocated to our client's membership. The proposal should be both commercially challenging and economically sustainable.
Business Management
- Assist in the creation of a new / bolt on Contract Management System which will build in best practice for supplier performance and analysis.
- Manage Suppliers to ensure delivery programmes are maintained against agreed schedules
- Understand the needs of suppliers and their industries and recommend targets in terms of cost and capacity
- Plan and deliver strategies to achieve future government targets for waste electrical and electronic equipment
Key Areas
- Recruitment and retention of service providers / reprocessors / Asset Management / Reuse / Charity organisations
- Obtaining “best value” commercial and contractual terms
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5 years commercial and contractual experience
- Experience in working in challenging results-driven environments.
- Experience of negotiating at all levels with third party suppliers
You must have UK driving licence and be willing to travel extensively within the UK staying overnight in hotel accommodation as required. Occasional European travel may also be required.
