Our client is currently seeking a Regulatory Manager to assist with product food legislation compliance within the UK, as a professional Regulatory Manager you will be offered an interim one year contract with this market leading organisation based within the Berkshire, Bucks, Herts, Middlesex, Surrey, Oxon and London areas.
To Manage other members of the Regulatory team with the emphasis on achieving their full business and personal potential
Build and implement a claim development and approval process
To propose and implement policies on all regulatory and nutrition aspects
To be the UK representative and contact for regulatory affairs and nutrition internally and externally
Stakeholder engagement for Regulatory and Nutrition bodies Key responsibilities include:
1. Play a key role in driving and developing the Nutrition & Regulatory strategy
Improving standards
Developing strategies for the future
Proactively anticipating and responding to changes in the regulatory environment using external networks and contacts
2. Manage other members of the Regulatory and Nutrition team with the emphasis on achieving their full business and personal potential
Coaching/mentoring new staff
Ensuring standards and policy at the heart of how new staff work
Building and maintaining morale in the team
Ensuring a work/life balance
Setting objectives and reviewing progress
3. Play a key role in building a proactive Regulatory department to leverage growth in the UK
Identify and establish relationship with key regulatory and nutrition stakeholders
Set agenda to lobby and influence relevant parties
4. Help build and implement a Claim development and approval process
Lead regulatory aspects of NPD claim development from concept to on-pack and off-pack communication. To substantiate any claims made by company in the UK
Contribute to claim generation and lead approval process with regulatory bodies
Work in partnership with R&D Claims Manager
5. To propose policy and to police internal policies on all regulatory and nutrition aspects
To implement and communicate the claim approval procedure.
To monitor and manage any communicated information to consumers and ensure all information is legal and true.
To ensure all UK products conform to all relevant UK/ROI/EU & International Regulations. Manage communication of changes in legislation
6. To be the UK representative and contact for regulatory affairs and nutrition internally and externally
To build and maintain internal and external stakeholder relations. To be the UK main contact for all regulatory and nutrition issues.
To be the UK contact for Regulatory Directors, assisting them in achieving their priorities by providing opinions on legal / nutrition queries, implementing their guidelines
To represent the company at meetings of UK relevant trade association committees. Communicate of the work of these groups.
To anticipate & report on emerging legal/nutrition issues, with particular attention to their media risk potential.
Crisis management support
Professional Background:
Extensive knowledge of UK/ ROI/ EU/ International food legislation.
Significant experience in nutrition and regulatory role
Proven experience in a commercially focused environment (FMCG)
Extended needed Skills:
People management
Organisational & Decision making skills.
Communication skills (written/ verbal), numeracy & some computer literacy.
Ability to source information.
Attention to detail.
This Regulatory Manager role based within the Berkshire, Bucks, Herts, Middlesex, Surrey, Oxon and London areas, provides an excellent plaform to demonstrate your expertise as a Regulatory Manager and perhaps find a permanent role within this dynamic organistion.
