An exciting permanent opportunity now exists for an experienced Manufacturing Team Leader to work for a leading FMCG non food organisation in the Derbyshire / Nottinghamshire area.
This role is commutable from Nottingham, Derby, Chesterfield or Mansfield.
To manage, coach and develop teams to ensure current and future operational requirements are met in line with agreed Site Safety, Environmental, Quality, Cost, Morale and Speed targets. You will have responsibility for the shift in the absence of the Shift Manager.
Responsibilities of Manufacturing Team Leader
Identify, plan, monitor and manage team performance against Quality, Speed, Cost, Safety, and Morale targets. Conducting return to work interviews, planning, performance reviews including disciplinary interviews.
Co-ordinate and plan work throughout the teams covered using the relevant planning boards and recording of production and data on weekly plan to meet customer requirements and communicate annualised hours requirements
Ensure that all tasks in SAP are completed accurately and promptly by the team
Ensure team control and management materials including the accurate completion of SAP task and reduction in wastage
Full understanding of all procedures (e.G. SOP's) relating to their department and contribute to development and implementation of new procedures, review competence of team members on a regular basis
Contribute to effective team working by developing communication channels with both internal and external customers an suppliers, agreeing priorities and developing action plans.
Investigate and develop corrective actions for quality non-conformances (customer complaints) and implement and review solutions
Management of reject or returned stocks in line with site waste management procedures.
Co-ordinate the development and implementation of operational improvement programs and monthly innovation with their teams to ensure that targets are hit. Use of problem solving techniques including SPC, Fishbone, 5W's & H etc
You will have competence in operation of a counterbalance and flexi truck.
You will also be experienced with Microsoft Office, DCS and SAP.
You will be an action orientated person with entrepreneurial drive and a proactive approach
Customer focussed and capable of making timely decisions, you will be able to lead, motivate and direct others, caring about, developing and confronting direct reports. Well organised and a good planner you will be approachable and capable of building effective teams
