A leading Baked Goods Manufacturer are currently seeking a Technical Manager to lead and develop the Site Technical team to achieve, maintain and improve product safety, legality and quality standards and systems across the site.
Key responsibilities include:
Support all other functions, primarily operations and engineering, by providing a first class technical service to enable the safe and efficient production of safe, high quality products across all shifts.
Satisfy the requirements of the Company, customers and consumers in ensuring compliance with legislation (and legislative developments)
As part of the site Senior Management Team, ensure that department activities are in line H&S procedures and requirements
Actively contribute to the development of site and functional strategies.
Lead, support and motivate the Technical Team, provide a greater opportunity for the department to contribute to the business success.
The Technical Team comprises QA, Technical Services, Technical Support and Process Development
Continuously review and improve the Quality Management Systems integrated across the site, ensuring that all company, Retail Customer and BRC Requirements are met.
Manage the Technical budgets generating supporting information whenever required to support the financial needs of the business.
Facilitate the introduction of all NPD / EPD for the site, ensuring that the technical integrity of the site is maintained at all times.
5 Direct Reports, Indirect the QA and Hygiene Team
You will ideally be in a similar role with at least 2 years experience in a Quality Assurance or Technical Management role within the Food industry with major retailer exposure.
Excellent leadership, communication and motivational skills are essential, as is the ability to influence others who are not under direct control, and are at all levels of the management team. An understanding of budgetary systems and control would be advantageous.
