A leading Chilled Foods Manufacturer are currently seeking a Technical Manager to contribute to the achievement of overall site objectives by ensuring all products leave the Site to customer specifications whilst advising on areas of Food legislation and Health and Safety.
Responsibilities include:
To manage the Technical and Quality Assurance teams in order to ensure that all product, and the site, meets all legislative standards.
To produce and maintain records and procedures which ensure all product is of good quality and achieves customer requirements.
Ensuring that the factory is maintained and cleaned to a high standard. Ensuring that hygiene operations are carried out in order to meet legislative requirements.
Ensure that company policy and Statutory Regulations associated with food safety (Quality HACCP) are complied with and the necessary records are retained.
Management of all external and customer audits including BRC, ESF and Systems and Processes.
Ensure all departments are compliant and that scores are improved year on year in line with business performance.
Maintain all control systems specified by Law, or customer.
Ensure that any complaints in connection with product produced are investigated and handled in timely fashion.
Be aware of, and comply with all relevant codes or practice.
Ensure that all products consistently meet production specification and quality standards.
Assist the Factory Manager/Site Director during Site visits.
Review all quality issues and discuss appropriate action necessary to correct defects.
Prepare any special/specific reports concerning departmental activities/problems/quality systems/rejected items.
Direct and control sampling/tasting of all products to determine conformity to standards.
Select products for tests at specified stages in production process and record all test data.
Ensure that technical information systems are effectively developed and managed to maximise their effectiveness.
To train/develop the team under his/her control in order to obtain the required operational efficiency.
You will be time served within the Chilled Foods sector and possess the ability to execute and implement change as necessary to ensure the continued improvement of site. You will also need to be experienced in dealing with major retailers; M&S will be a distinct advantage.
