Our client is a well-established and successful company with an excellent international reputation for design and manufacture. They are currently experiencing significant growth and consequently an opportunity has arisen for a Production Planning Manager, experienced in the electronics industry, to join the management team.
Responsibilities of the role will include the following:
* Ensure efficient production control and scheduling
* Pre-Sales and Sales responsibilities including responding to customer delivery requests and management of information associated with the sales order process
* Generating and analysing Operations performance information, generating improvement recommendations in terms of material stock levels and operational processes.
* Recommending and agreeing improvement strategies with the Operations Director before assembling and managing ad-hoc teams to carry out these strategies
* Monitor ERP system configuration and set-ups, to ensure operational effectiveness
You must have an in depth knowledge of Production planning processes. Experience of MRPII and ERP and a thorough understanding of the processes and philosophies associated with working within an ERP environment is essential.
The successful candidate will be managing a small team and, therefore, man management and team building experience is essential. A broad operational based background with a track record of successful planning and implementation of large capital projects is also required. You must be able to manage the daily time critical activities without compromising longer term improvement projects.
In addition, you will:
* Be both self motivated and able to work effectively in a team
* Be approachable with a friendly demeanour
* Have an analytical mind able to extract important information from data
* Have a degree or equivalent in a related subject
* Have project management training
* Have good organisational and communication skills
