Our client is a well-established and successful company with an excellent international reputation for design and manufacture. They are currently experiencing significant growth and consequently an opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Manager, experienced in the electronics industry, to join the management team.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
* Oversee and manage the activities associated with materials management and the electronic manufacturing process
* Generating, recommending and managing the department budget
* Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to ensure that product is built and delivered against defined business targets
* Develop, train and motivate the team
* Ensure that quality processes are in place and adhered to
* Evaluating and managing the subcontract supplier base, ensuring that the base is a good commercial fit with the ongoing manufacturing strategy
* Ensure that the company ERP system is maintained and utilised in the operational environment to deliver high class performance
* Identifying and implementing improvement projects and processes that improve efficiency, capacity and quality
The successful candidate will have an in depth knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes and will be able to plan and implement long term strategies to ensure achievement of future business plans. A proven track record in managing large capital projects aimed at improving the manufacturing or materials management processes is important. You will be able to advise on assembly technologies including recommendations on the use of new technologies or new processes within the manufacturing environment. An ability to demonstrate an ability to recruit and grow individuals and teams is essential.
In addition, you:
* Must be both self motivated and able to work effectively in a team
* Will be approachable and friendly demeanour
* Will hold a degree in a technical discipline
* Will have good project management skills, and excellent organisational and communication skills
