Our client is a name synonymous with quality design and product innovation. They design and build communication, VoIP, infrastructure and test solutions to meet the needs of Broadcasters, Defence, Public Safety Agencies and Training Simulation providers in over forty countries. As a result of expansion they now seek a production engineering professional, experienced in the electronics industry. This is an interesting and varied job, with prime responsibilities to include:
* Ensuring the smooth transition of Development projects to Production. To maintain a clear definition of products in order for them to be reproduced reliably.
* Work with marketing, product management, and other development teams to design products to specification.
* Project management and support of hardware designs from hardware functional specification into pre-production and pilot production.
* Hardware design of products to the electronic design standards document.
* Ensure compliance of international regulations and standards on EMC, Safety, and International Telecommunications standards.
* Development of existing products, value engineering, improve test processes.
* Some hardware design of product using the standard CAD packages available for our client's products.
* Work with component manufacturers and other design engineers to ensure designs are standardised.
* Work with suppliers on prototypes and readiness for mass manufacture.
* As part of the design process compile test specifications and in some cases advise R& D on test issues.
* To assist in the administration of the department, and maintain all engineering records and documentation (paper and computer based) regarding ECO's, technical information, etc.
In order to complete these duties successfully, our client seeks candidates who hold the following essential key skills:
* At least 5 years' production engineering experience in Electronics industry.
* A relevant technical qualification e.g. BSc, HND, HNC in electronics.
* Knowledge of EMC testing, IEC950 Safety standards, and International Telecommunications Standards.
