Operations Manager
c £28,000 + benefits Belfast
Our client is a leading company in the multi-metal processing and distribution sector. Each local business is supported by the strength of not only a national company but also a highly successful international group. Their operation in Belfast is both long established and highly profitable and regarded as a key business within the group.
They now require an Operations Manager to take charge of all operational matters at their Belfast depot. Reporting to the General Manager you will be responsible for a multi-disciplined workforce of fifteen people and a warehousing facility of 40,000 sq feet. Your role will encompass warehousing (on and off site), transport, health and safety and quality management. Ultimately you will be responsible for the smooth day to day running of this high volume processing and distribution site.
Successful performance will be measured on productivity improvement, customer service levels, goods inward and stock control management, safe working practices, motivation and discipline, effective processing of materials and their timely distribution, high standards of house keeping and adherence to all operating procedures under ISO9002.
With previous experience of operating in processing / manufacturing environments, you must be a skilled people manager with the ability to build a strong team and develop a “can do” culture. Knowledge and/or experience of ISO9002 and other complimentary systems and processes are desirable.
A good understanding of production operations and the systems/procedures required to maximise efficiency in the warehouse is essential. With a proven track record in Health and Safety management you will be a team player willing to lead by example.
