General Manager
c £40,000 + car + benefits Belfast
Our client is a leading company in the multi-metal processing and distribution sector. Each local business is supported by the strength of not only a national company but also a highly successful international group. Their operation in Belfast is both long established and highly profitable and regarded as a key business within the group.
At this exciting stage in their development they now require a General Manager to take full P& L responsibility for this multi-million pound operation. Reporting to Director level you will be responsible for providing strong leadership and motivation for both sales and operational teams. You will be required to develop and deliver the annual business plan by the effective management of volume, margins and cost.
Successful performance will be measured on the overall profitability of the operation as well as volume throughput, enhancement of trading accounts, gross margin improvement, maximisation of selling prices and the improvement of customer service levels. You will also work closely with the Director on the strategic development of the operation.
The key to this role is the ability to successfully manage both people and resources in a high volume processing and distribution operation working to short lead times. You must be a highly skilled communicator and possess the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse multidisciplined workforce. With a pragmatic approach you will not be afraid to lead from the front.
