Manufacturing Engineer - Surface Mount Assembly

Our client is a £60 million pounds turnover publicly listed Electronics manufacturer that specialise in intrinsically safe instrumentation for the process and related industries, as well as specialising in the lightning and power surge protection and gas analysis.
They are looking to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer educated to degree level in a suitable Engineering discipline and have a minimum of 3 years experience in an electronics assembly environment. A lower level of education would be acceptable for a candidate with greater than 5 years experience. The candidate will have detailed knowledge of Surface Mount Assembly and soldering processes and will be able to monitor yields and make suitable process changes in order to improve those yields. A knowledge of Siemens Pick-and-Place machines would be a distinct advantage. New Product Introduction also forms a significant proportion of the role, therefore good communication skills are required in order to work effectively with Design Engineers to ensure that design for manufacturing is considered at the earliest development stages. The role is largely team-based so the ideal candidate will be able to communicate with all levels of the business, from the shop-floor to the senior management team.
