Health & Safety Manager
Teesside, Middlesbrough
£ Negotiable for the right candidate
40 hours per week, however, a flexible approach to working hours would be desired
Our client is a key first tier supplier to major OEM manufacturers across Europe offering a wide range of service from component / mould tool design and manufacture to the supply of high level decorated AUTOMOTIVE interior and exterior component and sub-assembly. Their success in this sector has rewarded continued growth and expansion over recent years giving a secure and strategic platform within the market place. They are looking to recruit a Company Health & Safety Manager reporting to the Plant Manager and Company Directors.
Principle Accountabilities of the Health & Safety Manager:
Ensuring the delivery of business objectives in relation to Health, Safety and the Environment across the activities of the company.
Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
* Qualified by training and examination to NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum (or equivalent)
* BSC Diploma - DipSM or NEBOSH Diploma preferred (or equivalent)
* Experience in Environmental Management essential
* Advisor to the the Directors and Senior Management team on all aspects of H,S&E in respect to business activities.
* Design, Implement and enforce policies and procedures in line with legislative requirements.
* Carry out risk assessments and develop safe systems of work.
Undertake a proactive role in the effective management and investigation of accidents and near misses.
* Be a focal point for the Enforcing Agencies, Solicitors, EA and HSE.
* Deal with all aspects of E.L. claims management from the investigation to conclusion.
* Develop strategies to reduce exposure to E.L. Claims.
* Develop and produce management reports and information including performance against KPIs.
* Control of all legislative documents to ensure adequate and appropriate records retention.
* Management of the waste disposal system, ensuring that all wastes are removed by legal compliant companies and relevant documentation is retained.
* Manage all permits, licences and authorisations in relation to materials storage, handling and processing to ensure validity and compliance with statutory requirements.
* Management of the Environmental Management System and ISO 14001.
* Co-ordinate the End of Life Vehicle Directive
* Management of the H&S forum.
