Our Client is the leader in the UK steel processing and service centre sector, and part of one of the worlds largest metal producers. They have unrivalled products, processing and technical recourses that enable them to provide innovative material solutions for their customers.
Continued success has led to the requirement of a new Shift Team Leader based in North Lanarkshire.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Deploy available resources so as to deliver agreed production plan to good standards of workmanship and in conformance with all Company standards and procedures.
* Ensure the provision, maintenance and operation of optimum operating capacity, including processing and distribution, to satisfy production plan and OTIF requirements, both current and projected.
* Maintain accurate production data and provide regular feedback to the planning function on production plan adherence in order that future schedules may be optimised.
* Ensure the organisation of stock and associated records to facilitate both safe and effective operations and maintain stock integrity.
* Ensure the organisation of consumable supplies to maintain optimum productivity.
* Recruit, select, motivate, train and develop the team, managing its performance and reward, to maintain an effective workforce capable of meeting its current and projected objectives.
* Contribute to site security and asset protection so as to limit liability and minimise loss.
* Ensure that team operations, including those undertaken on the Company's behalf by third party service providers, are conducted in a manner which fully complies with CDBS'S health and safety, quality, environmental and corporate policies.
Qualifications & Qualities
* Ability to demonstrate strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
* Relevant academic qualifications or vocational skills could include: formal leadership training, continuous improvement, 5S, problem solving and relevant technical experience.
* The position requires an effective supervisor with substantial experience in service centre or manufacturing activities, particularly performance management.
* Ability to demonstrate strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
* The ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales is essential.
