A leading Chilled Food Manufacturer is currently seeking a Senior National Account Manager to proactively manage specific major multiple customers and potentially others in order to ensure company objectives are met and business opportunities are maximised.
Key responsibilities include:
Represent the Company in a highly professional and pro-active manner with all key customer contacts.
Establish commercially focused business relationships with all key decision makers / influencers within the specified customers.
Control of customer specific budget
Managing mix of business to achieve versus budgeted customer profitability Promotional spend
Develop and implement sales strategies to ensure that budgeted sales targets are achieved
Propose, agree and effectively manage the sales budget, customer marketing and promotional spends in support of identified sales strategies
Proactively manage accounts in order to optimise gross margin on sales, thereby maximising account profitability of said accounts
Accurately forecast and report on account sales on an on-going basis and develop and implement suitable remedial action plans where a risk to sales is forecast
Organise, manage and monitor promotional activity in order to drive distribution, customer awareness and volume; analyse the results of such activity to evaluate which are the most effective in support of business objectives
Critically evaluate Company product range with customer accounts to ensure that the gross margin on sales is maximised;
Develop, coordinate and effectively monitor new product development activity within customer accounts so as to determine which new products make the most significant contribution to Company profitability
Proactively manage the long term growth and profitability of accounts by developing good business relationships and maintaining effective communication channels with customer base
Communicate with internal customers / suppliers on current sales strategies, promotional and NPD activities in a timely manner thereby ensuring that all business requirements are satisfied
Identify and secure new and profitable business opportunities both within existing and new accounts
Undertake any other duties or activities as required by the Commercial Director
You will have experience of managing multiple retail grocery customers & knowledge of the chilled and frozen product markets. Effective negotiation skills, category Management experience & sales budgeting and forecasting experience are essential. Experience with Major retailers especially M&S will be deemed advantageous.
You will be commercially aware, with good presentation, communication, influencing & Project Management skills.
