Engineering Buyer
Contract to Permanent, Start ASAP to be based in Biggleswade for a British manufacturer of packaging equipment
To ensure that all machine kits and material are delivered on time, complete, correct and within budget to the assembly teams
You'll be able to reduce the cost of parts and lead-times of bought out items and improve the quality of purchased parts. Also be able to ensure that all service spares orders are despatched accurately and to delivery deadlines and that Stores meets the requirements of the assembly teams and spares departments
RESPONSIBILITIES
To purchase all required parts at the very best affordable price & quality. Responsible and accountable for the guardianship of the companies' money.
To guarantee that all parts are delivered to a deadline and are available on the shop floor when required.
To ensure the Purchasing Department is working to its optimum performance levels at all times.
To ensure that all material is easily identifiable, easy to locate and stored in such a manner as not to damage or harm it in any way
To foster and maintain advantageous supplier relationships.
To continually seek to improve Purchasing techniques whilst ensuring that professional Purchasing ethics are maintained
To reduce our stockholding of parts and inventory value.
To work in conjunction with the Design Office to reduce machine costs without compromising quality and delivery.
