Our client, a major FMCG chilled food manufacturer, is currently seeking an FMCG experienced Area Manager for Personnel as part of their expansion plans in this new division of a large and highly successful food producer. This FMCG food group has been established for 20 years with over 1000 staff and in a recent cultural survey, were rated in the top 10 food manufacturers in the UK for it's investment in staff.
The role will involve managing one Personnel Assistant, providing a comprehensive, professional and responsive advisory service on key personnel matters whilst working on your own initiative to support the overall aims of the business.
Your role will include:
- Taking ownership of people initiatives and projects to add value to the business from concept to delivery
- Ensuring Managers adhere to policies, procedures and practices whilst complying with employment law and best practice.
- Reviewing and redesigning internal processes in line with the needs of the business
- Assisting managers with staff issues including disciplinary, grievances etc. And recommend positive actions to be taken
- Managing the recruitment process to ensure the company recruits the right people in line with legislation
- Managing short and long term sickness absence
- Working closely with occupational health to manage the health and wellbeing of the staff
- Facilitating/co-chairing the Consultative Committee to improve staff relations and communication across the business
- Designing and delivering Personnel training courses to managers
You will have at least 2 years operational HR/Personnel experience within an FMCG environment and a good working knowledge of UK employment law and working practices. A CIPD qualification would be desirable. In return, due to company expansion plans, there will be lots of opportunity for future career development for the right candidates.
