Continuous Improvement Manager, Hants, lean manufacturing processes, best practice, process mapping, kanban, lost time analysis, structured problem solving, 7 wastes, cost reduction
This role is pivotal to support my client's ongoing change agenda, with the responsibility of implementing a sustainable CI programme throughout the organisation.
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will provide leadership and direction to multi-disciplined teams, acting as an internal consultant assuming full responsibility for implementing and managing CI projects. You will promote and drive a lean culture. Using a range of CI techniques, you will identify, establish and analyse appropriate performance measures for improvement purposes.
Job Requirements
Assist in developing a CI strategy, whilst crucially identifying opportunities for improvement, within manufacturing operations and subsequently throughout the business. Quantify the potential benefits and the costs involved.
Build and lead cross-functional teams to implement change programmes. To monitor the performance of each team and work with line managers to allocate sufficient resources to each project.
Maintain detailed plans for all projects, with lead times and milestones, whilst controlling changes in scope and keeping projects on schedule.
Train and develop members of project teams, team leaders, line managers and other key employees within the business, in CI and Lean manufacturing techniques.
Key Skills Required
Experience in introducing best practice, lean processes within a workshop environment.
Can demonstrate knowledge of process mapping, kanban, Lost Time analysis, structured problem-solving, work-force improvement teams and the removal of the 7 wastes.
Engaging with, influencing and gaining buy-in from senior business leaders, so as to leverage and generate change.
Pioneering, leading and championing major programmes based on cost-reduction and process enhancement through employee engagement in improvement.
Coaching, mentoring and educating senior managers, team leaders and staff at all levels in CI tools, techniques and methodologies.
Monitoring, reviewing and improving ongoing projects so as to communicate and maximise business benefit from these investments.
Capable of initiating process improvements, driving far-reaching change and gaining buy-in within a manufacturing environment.
