Business Unit Manager required to run a branch located in . Our client operates a national domestic emergency services network working with major insurers and the public to provide a 24-hour repair and safety service to domestic properties. Operating through a branch network the company handles a variety of domestic emergencies including plumbing, drainage, glazing and locksmith. The Business Unit Managers report to Regional Managers and are responsible for ensuring the Units operate to agreed standards and are developed and maintained to maximise the contribution of staff in the achievement of net profit and other agreed business targets. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuing that the unit maximises conversion of leads in a professional manner and in accordance with company policy. You will ensure quality planning and deployment is undertaken within the unit to maximise productivity and profitability. You will implement robust workflow processes in respect of pricing, ordering, banking and invoicing. You will be able to ensure all costs in respect of labour, material and overheads are effectively managed in accordance with budget and targets. You will also contribute to the development of annual budgets and to monitor and report on budget deviations. You will be experienced and able to ensure appropriately skilled and experienced staff are recruited and retained, and that such recruitment is undertaken in accordance with the manpower plan and company policy and procedure and to ensure a process of regular performance review and competency assessment is in place. In short you will be capable of running your own business unit within a major national company.
This is a position that demands that you be an experienced at managing a regionally based branch unit in a labour intensive service industry working with and managing trades professionals. It will be particularly appropriate if you have experience working in a glazing and locksmith environment. It is possible that you will have attained some management qualifications.
The rewards are considerable with a generous basic salary and bonus totalling around £37,000, company car, pension scheme, private medical provision and other benefits.
