Formed in 1996, Our client was one of the founding networks in this relatively new but fast expanding sector of the UK distribution industry. Our client has the strongest financial backing of any pallet distribution company.
Our client collects and distributes a range of palletised freight consignments throughout the UK via their network of strategically based hauliers and offers 24 hr, 72 hour, timed, booked, Saturday am and tail-lift deliveries.
Through their integrated IT system, every licensee is linked to the hub and to each other. Information flows quickly and efficiently throughout the network and licensees and customers have freight movement visibility via the Internet.
They now have a vacancy for a Night Hub Manager.
Purpose:
- To manage shift resources to ensure all pallets from inbound trunks are reloaded on to outbound trunks on time, via the correct routing, in a safe and efficient manner.
- To provide a competent, committed and motivated team that is capable of consistently delivering the above.
Scope:
- To process 3500 pallets per night.
- Responsible for 14 Hub staff.
- Key interfaces with other depots, & drivers.
Responsibilities:
- To make certain that every night all pallets are moved through the Hub, on time, scanned, correctly routed and with no damages.
- To make sure that all HUB working methods are diligently followed and to ensure that all aspects of HS&E procedures are promoted and complied with.
- To manage the performance of the team & individuals (e.g. holidays, discipline, absence etc), to enable the performance of the HUB to meet all standards and targets.
- To make certain that issues arising from non conformance to any of the above are communicated to the appropriate manager as soon as practicable.
- To develop the flexibility, stability and competence of the HUB team in line with HUB needs.
- To develop personal management competence in line with the business needs
- To meet Hub Operational Budget
The ideal candidate must have sound experience of:
- Fast moving /innovative transport/logistics business, with exacting service and quality demands.
- Working in a HUB/pallet network type environment (e.g. high street retailer's RDC).
- A Supervisory management position, responsible for ensuring adherence to daily service and quality standards.
- Building and developing a stable, committed and high performing shift team.
