Our client specialises in the design, manufacture and assembly of plastic components for automotive and specialist industries worldwide using state-of-the-art technology. They currently seek a Logistics Team Leader.
Your role will be to ensure that all goods are identified, correctly packaged with correct quantities. Also that goods are recorded, handled and stored in a manner which shall preserve the quality and integrity of the goods. To direct and motivate a team with reference to the company business systems, rules and procedures.
Key Roles, Responsibilities and Objectives
- Leading a small team of people
- Managing the smooth and efficient running of the department
- Ensuring that internal and external timed deliveries meet specified customer requirements.
- Ensuring that all team members operate inline with the standard working Practices to maintain accurate inventory control
- To develop, implement and maintain relevant control and monitoring measures (KPI's) and set targets for achievement on key measures, such as Delivery on time and Stock accuracy.
- Providing and maintaining safe working practices at all times.
- Identifying individual and department training needs on a regular basis, ensuring that all team members receive adequate and appropriate training to enable then to perform all tasks /operations with in the department across all disciplines.
- With the assistance from HR, assist with the co-ordination of training, learning and development plans for each of team member.
- Maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping at all times within the department and communicating to all team members the expected level of standard to be maintained.
- Continual seeking improvement opportunities within the business.
- To provide support and guidance to your team acting as a role model at all times.
- Liaising with manufacturing Team Leaders & managers
Key Skills
- Excellent numeracy skills.
- Knowledge of MFGPro and PC skills.
- Familiarity of a Goods In, Storage & Despatch function.
- Good organisation skills
- Managing and developing a team.
- Able to motivate and develop staff.
- Able to work in a high pressure environment.
- Excellent housekeeping standards and disciplines
- Good communicator across all functions and levels within the business
- Meet deadlines and targets.
- Self motivated and able to work on own initiative.
Experience
- Excellent knowledge of warehousing and basic knowledge of Health and Safety.
- 2 years working in a similar warehousing environment
- Proven track record of maintaining high standard of operating practices.
Qualifications
- FLT – Reach & Counter balance
- NVQ –Level 2 in warehousing & Logistics
- European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
- Basic award for IT skills
