Our client is a specialist Value Added distributor supplying Display Solutions, Printer Solutions and Electronic Components, to a wide variety of customers operating in markets including telecom, EDP, medical, industrial, defence, transportation, POS and instrumentation.

As a Value Added distributor, the company is also involved in providing solutions to customers. Among the Suppliers our client represents are Fujitsu, Sanyo, Sharp, Powertip. The company is a member of Arcum Group of Companies.

Within the role of Senior Operations and Logistics Manager, your overall responsibilities will be to improve the overall effectiveness of operations, logistics and procurement management to service the needs of customers, suppliers and colleagues, and to devise new procedures/systems reflecting the changing requirements of the company, specifically its Value Added operations. This will include the following specific responsibilities: purchase order processing/suppliers liaison, sales order processing, management of stock and procurement. You will also manage the warehouse and relationships with suppliers and Freight Forwarder, alongside other miscellaneous duties.

In order to complete these duties successfully, the ideal applicant will require the following key experience and attributes:

* Qualified to a minimum of HNC/HND level – preferably a graduate.
* Familiarity with Sage line 100, MRP system (Material requisition & Planning), KanBan, JIT (Just in Time), RLT (Reduced Lead Times) VMI (Vendor Management Inventory).
* Some knowledge of ‘manufacturing/value added' systems (involving BOM's etc) and previous experience of managing a ‘value added' operation.
* Knowledge of advance Microsoft computer packages (Excel, word, outlook etc.).
* Numerically competent and comfortable with numbers, computation etc.
* Able to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
* Able to resolve problems with own initiative, logical approach to problem solving.
* Commercial awareness of factors affecting profitability of Company
* Outgoing and presentable manner when communicating with customers, suppliers and colleagues even when under pressure
