Temporary – Finance Officer (Adult Services)
£20.00 per hour

The Company
This is a Local Government office based in Islington.
The Job
You will be required to support the Senior Finance Officer in the efficient and effective provision of a comprehensive finance function, including all aspects of the annual estimates process, budget maintenance, monitoring, control and reporting and the year end closing of accounts, in accordance with statutory requirements and the Council's policies and procedures.
The Person
• You will have to have or be studying towards an appropriate qualification e.g. AAT or NVQ III Business and Finance or equivalent work based experience.
• A good understanding of accounting principles and procedures, including financial monitoring and control.
• The ability to deal with high volume workloads, ensuring attention to detail and accuracy is maintained
• The ability to communicate complex, diverse information effectively, both in person and in writing with all levels of staff and external agencies.
• The ability to provide effective advice and support to ensure compliance with legislation and statutory guidance and to promote financial best practice.
• The ability to liaise effectively within the finance function and with operational staff and managers, to support service delivery and the achievement of service objectives.
• The ability to plan and prioritise effectively ensuring targets and deadlines are achieved, to support service delivery and the achievement of service objectives.
• The ability to work effectively within a large organisation.
• The ability to use initiative and work effectively as part of a team, ensuring that targets and deadlines are achieved.
