Our Client is an established and successful digital communications solutions provider and is one of the UK's largest and oldest wholly independent new media companies.
Working with a wide range of clients and premium brands such as the Federation International de l'Automobile (FIA), the Open University, Wonderbra, the Eden Project, Luminar Leisure, Daihatsu and many more you will form part of a team of developers and programmers involved in the development and maintenance of web based systems, applications and sites ranging from viral marketing campaign elements and large scale creative web sites to the integration of business systems to deliver measurable benefits to our clients.
Key responsibilities:
• Taking finished designs from the Creative Department and developing XHTML/CSS page templates.
• Integration of any dynamic page elements using scripting languages such as PHP, JSPs/Java and/or ASP.NET/C#.
• Integration of templates into Content Management Systems.
• For small to medium projects the role will involve programming of dynamic functions using PHP, JSPs/Java and/or ASP.NET/C# and the development of mySQL or SQL server databases.
• For larger or more complex projects the post-holder will work alongside a senior Java or .NET developer to integrate front-end pages with the back-end programs.
• The role may develop to include Flash MX development and ActionScript programming.
Desirable skills and experience:
• 2-3 years experience of commercial Web site development
• Excellent skills in HTML, XHTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript and at least one scripting language (PHP, JSPs/Java and/or ASP.NET/C#.).
• Proven skills in using Photoshop, Dreamweaver templates and one other scripting language (PHP, JSPs/Java and/or ASP.NET/C#) and mySQL/SQL server.
• Experience of Flash MX and Flash ActionScript is desirable.
• Experience and knowledge of working on Unix and Windows platforms preferable.
• Proof of recent work and demonstrable proof of personal involvement in the work.
• Excellent understanding of Web site construction, architecture and navigation systems.
• Experience of working with Content Management Systems beneficial.
• Understanding and experience of accessible builds beneficial.
• Good personal time management skills and experience of working on multiple projects concurrently.
• Ability to work unsupervised and use own initiative.
• Ability to keep up-to-date with new technologies and industry standards.
