Senior Commercial Underwriter - Insurance
Avon, Bristol
£25,000 - £41,000
As a world leading Financial Services Company, our client knows that achieving success is built on some very simple foundations. Listen to your customers, communicate the benefits of your products and be efficient in the way you deliver your service. They are looking to recruit a Senior Commercial Underwriter.
You will underwrite commercial motor risks from a designated panel of intermediaries within agreed authority levels, to achieve profitable growth in line with Company and branch objectives. You will also provide a reference point and training for technical underwriting and product knowledge within the branch.
Within the role, your key accountabilities will require you to:
- Underwrite new and existing business profitability, accurately and in line with established Underwriting practice
- Maintain and develop business relationships with intermediaries
- Actively encourage generation of profitable new business
- Respond to customers requests for information
- Complete the Managing Underwriting procedure for a panel of Underwriters within the Branch
To fulfil these requirements, you will need the following skills, knowledge and behaviour:
Experience
- Commercial Motor / Fleet underwriting experience
Qualifications
- Progress towards ACII/Qualified ACII
- 'A' Level or equivalent education
Skills and Knowledge
- Interpersonal/communication/sales/negotiation skills
- Technical product knowledge
- PC/mainframe systems/keyboard skills
- Team focused
- Effective time management skills
- Mentoring/coaching skills
- Training skills
- Networking & Relationship building skills
