Software Engineer RIP technology, C, C++, on one of Win NT, Mac, Unix/Linux platforms, Electronic publishing solutions Cambridge or Manchester
Software Developer required to aid the design, development and maintenance of software in the core technology group of a print solutions company.
Responsibilities will also include: contributing to direction through group design discussions/consultations; and contributing to software development process definition and improvements.
Essential skills and experience include:
· B.Sc. degree in computer science, or equivalent training.
· Minimum 5 years C/C++ development on one of Windows NT, Macintosh, UNIX/Linux platforms.
· Knowledge of Pre-press or Electronic publishing systems.
· Knowledge/experience of page description languages, such as PostScript language and PDF.
· Knowledge/experience of modern software development processes and practices.
· A good team player with strong analytical and problem solving abilities and good communication skills.
Also desirable are:
· Knowledge/experience of computer graphics or image processing.
· Knowledge/experience of colour management.
This role will be based near Cambridge, salary negotiable dependent on experience.
It may be possible to arrange flexible working hours.
