Heavy emphasis on R&D and patentable IP. Academic Background: Computer Science degree. Ideally 2.1 or above Career Background: Hardcore development experience – ideally in innovative or emerging technology projects Java specialist – exposure to J2ME mobile application development a major bonus Technical Experience: Strong Technical Knowledge: * J2ME * J2EE * XML Good knowledge: * MIDP 1.0/2.0 * CLDC 1.0/1.1 * SQL Programming knowledge * Java Application knowledge * Apache * Tomcat * Netbeans/Eclipse Additional knowledge GNU/Linux, JSP, HTML, JavaScript, PERL, PHP Methodologies: Rigid testing mentality a must to cope with vagaries of multiple platforms and hardware Key personal qualities: Entrepreneurial, intelligent, passionate, innovative, ambitious, motivated. Willing to deal with the slings and arrows of a growing company. Ability to survive and flourish in constantly changing market with corresponding constantly changing development requirements Ability to say no as well as yes to maintain integrity and scalability and cost effectiveness of technical architecture and the development process. Ability to evaluate all tasks commercially and then communicate to management. Strong client- and partner-facing skills.
