Our client is an international maintenance engineering and condition monitoring consultancy, providing engineering solutions for the challenges of the North Sea oil and gas industry, the Company now also has extensive activities throughout the power and process industries worldwide. The role of the Condition Monitoring engineer is to operate and/or manage a condition monitoring programme on a day to day basis. This involves the application of a wide range of monitoring techniques including vibration monitoring, lube oil analysis and machinery performance monitoring. Working in a team environment, the engineer will be responsible for condition monitoring on one or more client sites, both on- and offshore. Responsibilities will include condition monitoring data collection, analysis of data collected, interpretation of results and diagnosis of equipment defects, recommending maintenance actions to clients. The work will also involve other onsite troubleshooting and rectification activities, such as in-depth vibration analysis, structural testing, balancing and machinery performance testing. The work will be office based, but with frequent visits to the clients’ sites and offices. The site work may involve visiting offshore installations and vessels. The ideal candidate will be qualified to degree or HND level in an engineering discipline. Direct ‘hands on’ experience in the operation of a routine vibration monitoring programmes, involving the use of hand-held vibration data collectors and analysis software, is essential, together with a good knowledge of the principles of machinery vibration.
