A real-time Embedded Software Engineer is currently required to work on ground-breaking communication systems using the latest technologies and protocols.
Our client is a fast-growing major European manufacturer of communications systems as applied to a range of diverse markets including professional broadcast and defence. Further expansion means that they now seek a talented, ambitious and motivated Real-time Embedded Software Engineer.
Your role will be to become a key part of the R&D team focussed on using the latest hardware and software design solutions to develop powerful communications products. As part of this team you will need to be enthusiastic about the development of complex software systems and proactive with an enquiring mind.
Within the role, you will require the following essential skills:
* Proven and successful software design experience in a real-time environment
* Experience of using a real-time operating system (RTOS) such as Nucleus with multi-threading
* Development experience using C, C++
* Experience of developing products for signal control and signal processing
The skills and experience below would also be ideal:
* At least 5 years in a research and development environment
* Good IT or relevant Engineering degree
* Good understanding of Windows, multi-threading and SQL as applied to a real-time application
* Knowledge of X-Window and Linux/Unix
* Keen to learn and adapt to new technologies and development tools and methods
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface to other engineers, suppliers and customers
