Purpose of Job:
• To ensure the effective provision of all financial services and systems, development and support that is required to plan, direct and control the manufacturing operations of Paignton in order to achieve the agreed trading results.
• As a member of the site finance team, influence and improve the performance of the site at Paignton. This will include all aspects of factory expenditure with particular regard to the areas of wastage and direct labour.
Main Tasks:
• Control the provision of the site’s sales and margin reporting, until this is generated automatically centrally. Thereafter, maintain and adequate overview for credibility of the figures generated. This information to be produced on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Various ad hoc commercial and operational reports covering all aspects of the site.
• Compilation of sales, margin, distribution and site overheads for forecasts and budgets. This to include liaising with commercial and production teams with challenging as required.
• Development of various information and IT systems that enhance the standard of information provided to the management team.
• Maintenance and supervision of system of accurate stock holding records. These to be verified through regular stock-takes. This information to be available to satisfy internal and external reporting requirements.
• Ensure the production of accurate and timely financial and management accounts. To ensure all group weekly, monthly, half yearly and yearly timetables.
• Ensure that appropriate product costing systems are in place, helping the company to meet its financial objectives.
• Recruit, develop, motivate and train finance staff to ensure the financial function has personnel of the number, calibre and experience required.
• Manage the weekly factory accounting packs. Included in this are materials yield, labour variances and purchase price variance recording.
