Our client is a specialist value added distributor supplying networking products and solutions to system integrators, value added resellers, service providers, network installers, catalogue and web resellers. End users are SME and corporate customers. Products supplied by the company include broadband modems and routers, security firewalls and VPNs, VOIP gateways and SIP phones, wireless LAN controllers and network switches and accessories. Services include training, configuration, installation, consultancy, technical support and maintenance. The company was incorporated in 1993.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for the smooth operation of the Finance and Accounts Department to service the needs of Customers, Suppliers and colleagues. You will be developing and implementing new improved systems and procedures in the Finance and Accounts Department to help the Company develop long-term sustainable profitable growth.

The person will be responsible for managing a team of one and the job and responsibilities will encompass the following:

* Management and Financial Accounting (Direct Personal Responsibility)
* Responsible (in conjunction with Accounts Assistant) for setting targets, implementing, monitoring and controlling Credit Control, Non Stock Purchases, Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger and Cash Book.
* Personnel/Salary Responsibilities (Direct Personnel Responsibility)

You will also act as Company Secretary, exercising the statutory duties and responsibilities of such, ensuring that all laws relating to Health and Safety and Insurance etc. are observed by the Company.

Within the role, you will require the following qualification and experience:

* Ideally qualified to CIMA or ACCA level or equivalent.
* Working knowledge of Sage Line 100 or MMS.
* Minimum three years work experience – ideally in related business.
* Knowledge of advance Microsoft computer packages (Excel, word, outlook etc.) would be an advantage.
* Numerically competent and comfortable with numbers, computation etc.
* Take ownership of responsibility.
* Able to resolve problems with own initiative, logical approach to problem solving.
* Commercial awareness of factors affecting profitability of the Company.
* Outgoing and presentable manner when communicating with customers, suppliers and colleagues even when under pressure.
