My client is an international banking organisation who are looking for an analyst to work in the business area of Credit and Risk within the analytics and decision systems department.
The purpose of the role is to;
Support the Business Unit to optimise profitability. Specifically contribute to appropriately prudent credit and risk management by monitoring and enhancing the systems, scorecards and strategies which underpin credit management and fraud prevention. Production of sound recommendations to improve strategy and increase profitability.
Work in partnership with Credit to achieve active management of scored portfolios by production of relevant MI, interpretation, analysis and modelling.
The work of the department includes;
Reviews of policies and processes, identifying where scorecards, processes or decision rules can be improved
Building scorecards, decision strategies, profitability models and bad debt forecasting using statistical data modelling
Implementing changes to decision systems
Principal Accountabilities for the position are;
Maintain and enhance existing decision support systems.
· Develop, produce and interpret reports. Identify issues and requirements for change.
· Undertake statistical analysis and modelling and identify actions to address issues raised.
· Perform sanity checking of all analysis and models to ensure best possible decisions are taken against known information.
· Recommend solutions, backing recommendations with detailed analysis of the operational and financial effect of change.
· Proactively conduct analyses, developing alternative and experimental strategies and identify success criteria.
· Produce business requirements for change, required functional documentation or physically deliver changes
· Measure impact on credit risk and recommend/deliver corrective action or improvements to lending portfolios.
· Monitor the effect of change, and determine/take corrective actions as required.
Experience required for this position;
Graduate in a numerical discipline
Good interpersonal skills
Have and develop detailed knowledge of software tools such as SAS
Have and develop detailed knowledge of database querying languages such as SQL
Be a self starter
Display a good attention to detail
Good understanding of decisioning processes
