Systems Engineer to design and on-site commission railway communications systems. Tasks include design and implement system solutions that meet customer requirements; provide technical support to Sales and Marketing; focus design efforts on innovation and cost minimisation; specify the systems specification to the manufacturing organisation; produce project documentation and reports; support field personnel. You MUST have BTEC / HNC or equivalent in Electrical / Electronic Engineering; 5 years experience in system manufacturing / installation and commissioning within a communications environment. Knowledge of Railway standards and practices would be advantageous. The systems will have values between GBP300 - GBP500k. Please note. This is not a board level design role and applicants with only these skills will not be considered. This role is for practical person happy to work at times in a dirty, cold and wet train depot, crawl under trains, etc.. This role is Permanent and paying iro GBP32k.
