Senior / Principal Electronics Engineer / Designer to work on sonar and marine applications with a company that is at the forefront of ocean technology, developing a wide range of innovative and unique oceanographic, acoustics, sonar and environmental sensors and systems for commercial and military applications. The core skill is that of a 'Physics based understanding of instrumentation and system problems', allied to reliable electronics, software, optical and mechanical engineering, coupled with industrial design and styling. You will be involved in all aspects of design from outline of specification requirements, schematic capture, printed circuit board layout, test / verification through to involvement with prototyping designs. You must have: B.Sc electronics degree 2:1 min.; 10 years analogue and digital electronics including mixed signal design; DSPs, FPGAs and microprocessor design; understanding of sonar theory or marine applications; experience leading a small team of engineers; be able to act on own initiative and accept increased responsibility during projects. Desirable: familiarity of Linux and PC Hardware; assembler; embedded 'C'; instrument and system design.
