Systems Engineer - civil avionics for a company specialising in civil and military aircraft. Projects include cockpit avionics, airborne radars, electronic warfare, mission systems, UAV systems and in-flight entertainment. You will be required to have a strong civil avionics background responsible for specifying and designing civil avionics (communications and navigation) subsystems and integrating these subsystems into a variety of civil and potentially military airborne platforms. You must have a detailed knowledge of civil aircraft Communication and Navigation Subsystems inc Satcom; knowledge of the integration and certification of systems on civil airliners (Airbus/Boeing); familiarity with Airbus and Boeing methodologies (ABD's etc); experience of working with civil airworthiness organisations (EASA, CAA/FAA); knowledge of civil avionics protocols ARINC 429, 615, 615A, 664; knowledge of aircraft environmental requirements; operator aspects of avionic systems; experience of interfacing with third party organizations; understanding of qualification requirements (EMC and Environmental); knowledge of the Inmarsat Satellite System and Service; knowledge of SATCOM protocols/ARINC 741, 761 and 781; requirements capture and management in DOORS·and 2 to 5 years experience in a civil avionics design environment. You must be educated to either Degree or HNC/HND level. This is a permanent role paying between GBP25k and GBP50k according to ability and experience.
