Our client is the leading international heat treatment, surface engineering and materials testing group.
They currently have a vacancy for an experienced Project Manager to join their Materials Engineering Division.
You will be responsible for managing the fatigue and fracture testing and analysis of materials, components and artefacts. Clients are international and mainly from the aerospace and oil and gas industry. You will work as part of a team on projects ranging from one-off testing to long term fatigue and fracture analysis.
The Role
# Design and carry out fatigue and fracture testing experiments on various ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
# Write and present your findings and analysis to clients.
# Manage the projects and be responsible for client relationships.
# Commercailly aware, understanding the financial pressures a commercial testing lab face.
# Responsible and pro active, focussed on meeting customer deadlines.
The Person
# Ideally a graduate, with at least 3 years commercial experience in a fatigue and fracture testing laboratory.
# Very good knowledge of ferrous metallurgy and metal for oil and gas applications.
# Ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
# Some knowledge of composites and structural testing is of benefit - but not essential.
# Due to the customer driven nature of the role, you must live near or be prepared to move to within commuting distance of the site - Daventry, Northants.
