Electrical Design Engineer
North Yorkshire, York

Our client is the leading brand name in the equipment housing sector, an exclusive supplier to FTSE 100 companies and a division of a substantial parent company, widely recognised as an employer of choice. They are looking to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer.
Due to growth, there is a requirement for Electrical Design Engineers to manage new clients and contribute to product development. Working with specialist electrical systems, you will be responsible for designing and drafting electrical schematics and documentation to allow the installation and fitting out of specialist equipment housings. You will demonstrate experience of previous client contact including the ability to identify and elicit client requirements and to manage specification changes.
With a background in electrical/electronic engineering, qualified to a minimum of HNC and with experience of electrical installation design to BS7671/16th Edition Wiring Regulations, you will also have considerable experience of AutoCAD or similar. On a day to day basis you will produce the specifications used by the installation teams for a wide variety of systems including lighting, heating, cooling, ventilation, fire detection suppression and radio systems.
A broad knowledge of standards within these areas would be advantageous and suitable candidates could come from a variety of backgrounds including building & construction, facilities management, utilities and railways that allow for experience of designing fit-out plans. Additionally, experience of low voltage, power distribution, UPS, DC Power, HVAC and wiring and cable management will be essential.
