Our client is the leading brand name in the bulk material handling sector, an exclusive supplier to FTSE 100 companies and a division of a substantial parent company, widely recognised as an employer of choice. The business provides a full lifecycle service to customers from initial design through to fabrication, site installations and ongoing customer support. Due to growth, the structural engineering team currently requires additional headcount.
This is an exciting career opportunity for a newly qualified engineer, and the appointed candidate can expect ongoing training and development opportunities both formally and informally. On a day to day basis you will have diverse responsibility as you work with the senior structural engineer and the mechanical engineering team on a variety of projects. You will be working predominantly with structural steelwork, but some foundation engineering design will also be required, and an interest in Architectural detailing would be an advantage.
Experience of the following would therefore be of interest from applicants:
* Previous structural or civil engineering
* Drafting or design of structures and/or buildings
* Experience of design software (StruCad, STAD, AutoCad etc)
* Understanding how structures work, i.e. retaining walls, re-enforced concretes, steel fabrications, groundworks etc.
On a personal basis you will be comfortable working to defined processes and with mathematical calculations, be a keen learner and able to engage with external customers.
To be considered for this role you will ideally be qualified to degree/HNC level in Civil Engineering (with a structural bias) or building. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, imaginative and looking for the opportunity to develop their career in a design and build environment.
