Our client are a global provider of automation systems and services to the production environment. They boast a huge base of customers and installed systems in many industries including Food Manufacture (FMCG), Automotive, Raw Materials, Pharmaceutical and Chemical to name a few. They are currently rolling out a successful national engineering programme involving engineers being based permanently on key customer sites.
Part of their service offering involves providing customers with professional outsourced services. A vital aspect of this is in maintenance planning. This role would involve being based in the customer's facility and providing a range of expertise and services relating to planned maintenance, inventory management, emergency breakdown, service, repair and installed base evaluations. This is a role of some responsibility as you will be the face of our client on that customer's site and therefore must be capable of confident customer liaison, be able to think clearly whilst under pressure, be able to communicate any changes to engineering departments with clarity and reasoning, and have good commercial understanding.
You will likely have a background in planned maintenance, perhaps originally as a mechanical technician or electrical engineer in an automation environment possibly involving control systems and PLC's, and have an appreciation of the modern production environment. You will have a technical background and be educated to HNC, HND or degree level. This is a multi-faceted job and is clearly a step up from a standard Maintenance Engineer or Commissioning Engineer level hence we require a talented and ambitious engineer for this role.
£32-35k + benefits + final salary pension !
