The successful candidate will undertake the relevant examination of structures detailed in the schedules in accordance with the Railway Group Standards and produce the appropriate reports to submit to the Structures Manager. In addition they will lead and guide the team in the execution of their activities to ensure efficient and cost effective completion of the allocated tasks in such a way that system and occupation standards are not compromised. Liaising with Network Rail personnel to ensure minimal disruption to train services as well as the Examinations Manager to ensure examinations and any repairs or work arising is correctly prioritized and assist in the planning of these tasks to be carried out. They will also be responsible for ensuring tools, plant and equipment are in a safe condition and that materials are used economically and unused materials are returned to stock, leaving all worksites clear upon completion.
