Principal Engineer to lead System Support team of 8 software engineers developing software for GSM / GPRS / UMTS mobile phone. The System Support engineers are generalists and have a good knowledge of the 2G and 3G systems and are responsible for ensuring faults are analysed, fixed and released to an agreed priority. You must have a degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Mathematics or related discipline (or equivalent period of industrial experience), 10 years exp in software development of embedded real-time systems or comms protocols, 3 years software team leadership / management, proficiency in C or C , 3 years exp. of configuration management and fault reporting tools, exp in real time software debugging techniques, exp in Mobile Telecoms / Data-comms Protocols, RTOSs or ARM Microprocessors desirable. Candidates with 'A' level maths at grade A or B or who have GSM, GPRS or UMTS design, develop or preferred. Permanent position. Salary according to ability.
